Whenever I log into my emails (several times a day) I always quickly scan through the subject lines looking for that magic word. You know the one I mean, the one that indicates that you've won something awesome. Seeing the word 'Congratulations' in the subject line on an email sitting in my inbox will totally make my day, except on the occasions when congratulations does not really mean congratulations.
Fresh from sell out tours across America and Australia, The Ten Tenors are back with a new album of Italian classics, In Mezzo al Mare.
Coming off the back of a chart-topping Christmas album which raised over $350,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, The TEN Tenors have truly shown the world what the power of ten can achieve
With more than 90 million people witnessing their unmistakable charm, camaraderie and vocal power over the past 19 years of sell-out performances across the globe, The TEN Tenors are undoubtedly one of Australia’s most successful touring entertainment groups of all time.
The group has redefined contemporary opera, proving that ‘the Vocal Wonder from Down Under’ can sing anything, with beloved classics by Puccini, Rossini and Verdi sitting alongside modern hits from artists as eclectic as David Bowie, U2, Queen and Bruno Mars.

It was around this time four years ago that I was inspired to start comping. That time has just flown by but so much has happened - I've won some great prizes, made some new friends, shared some wisdom - received some as well and had some funny and not so funny things happen to me. Here's a few of those stories, wondering how many other compers can relate.....
2016 has, so far, been a very busy time for me. Between work, kids/family, etc, etc I've unfortunately not been able to dedicate as much time to comping as I would like - gotta be a grown up sometimes and prioritise **sigh**. Of course I haven't taken a complete break, but for quite a while the few comps I had been entering were not converting to wins. Slowly I've been able to get on top of things again and find some balance between work, family and my favourite hobby .......... and finally there's been some progress on the prize front!
Evolving global play patterns show that children want a blend of digital and traditional fun and Australian company, Imagine Craft, is helping to achieve just that. Founder, Tracy Miles, recently launched the Create Smart Craft range featuring App Smart DIY Fridge Magnet Kits for children aged 4 to 10 years. The retail kits are available in various themes including: Australiana Designs, Faith Designs, Fun Designs and Christmas Designs.
The children follow the instructions to create their fridge magnet, download the FREE CREATE SMART CRAFT APP from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on any smart device, scan their finished fridge magnet using the device camera which triggers fun animation and cool sound effects on the smart device!
It's been a while since I've posted a win - it's actually been a while since I've had a win! I haven't been comping as much as I would like to lately, for a number of reasons - work, family etc I won't bore you with the details! But this week a little luck came my way and I was fortunate enough to win a Push Pop BMX bike thanks to a local confectionary wholesaler Kev Baldwin Confectionary.
It's a little big for either of my kids right now so I may have to store it for a few years until they graduate from training wheels!
At More Than Mad they're crazy about beautiful products that not only make you look and feel great, but also contribute to a greater cause. That's why each and every item they sell is ethically sourced, and helps to fund a community initiative in a developing country. From their luxurious silk scarves to their beautifully crafted jewellery and luxurious body products, you can be sure that not only will you receive a high quality product, but also the producer will receive a fair wage and good working conditions.
I was fortunate enough to sample some products from the Coco Khmer Coconut Oil Bodycare range available from the More Than Mad online store. I received a Natural Coconut Lip Balm, a Massage Balm and a Coffee Sugar Face and Body Scrub.
The Coconut Lip Balm is my new best friend. I always have a lip balm in my hand bag and several placed around the house as I cannot stand having dry lips. As soon as tried this product I just kinda went 'OMG'. It provided some intense and long lasting hydration that my lips craved. It will now accompany me wherever I go.
The Massage Balm is equally impressive. Enriched with lemongrass, keffir lime leaf, lavender and peppermint essential oils it smells absolutely divine. I find myself opening the tin several times a day just catch another whiff of the amazing scent. It too provides the perfect amount of hydration to sooth dry skin as well as helping to relax tired muscles.
Mother's Day is just a few Sundays away. I've not started shopping yet, but hey, I'm a comper. We always leave our gift shopping until the last minute, right? You know, just in case a prize arrives in the nick of time.
I have three gifts to purchase this year - for my mum, my step-mum and myself. Ok, technically my husband is the one that goes shopping for my gift - at 4pm the day before.......at the local bottle shop, but our kids aren't quite old enough to work just yet so it's still a gift I have to budget for. That is, if I don't win something awesome. Yes, along with Mother's Day come the Mother's Day competitions and they have started already. I have made a little list of the ones I have come across so far and will add new ones as I find them.
