Three times last week I was lucky enough to have won prizes in simple 'Like' & 'Share' or 'Comment to Win' competitions on Facebook but it was only by chance that I happened to read the announcement of the winners names in my News Feed. One was a very close call as by the time I discovered the announcement I only had half an hour left to respond with my details before the prize was redrawn! So my advice - if ever you enter these comps on Facebook it's a good idea to 'Get Notifications' for the page that is running the comp. You can do this by clicking the downward arrow on the 'Like' button (it's the first option in the drop down list). By doing this you will then be notified of new posts for these pages and you won't ever miss any winners announcements. Also make sure when you check your Facebook messages, regularly check the 'Other' folder as well. All messages received by people who aren't in your 'Friends' list go to this folder. I won a competition a few months ago and was sent a Facebook message - because I hadn't seen the initial timeline announcement, as I hadn't taken my own advice of clicking 'Get Notifications' for this particular page. The message sat in my 'Other' folder for about a week. The only reason I eventually noticed it was because the person who owned the page added me as a friend and then resent the message which finally appeared in my regular 'Inbox'. Lucky for me they were determined to give me the prize!
So make sure you follow these little tips when entering Facebook comps to ensure you know you're a winner.
